Each family owns vineyard estates
Each family is one of the most prestigious producers
Each family enjoys an international reputation for its wines
Currently, eleven of the world's Leading Families make up the association: Marchesi Antinori, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Joseph Drouhin, Egon Müller Scharzhof, Famille Hugel, Champagne Pol Roger, Famille Perrin, the Symington Family Estates, Tenuta San Guido, Familia Torres and Vega Sicilia.

Each year in July, PFV members meet together in the country of the current Presidency.
These meetings reunite all the members of the association, their extended families, and some of their management teams, to share best practice, discuss developments in the wine world, and agree on activities for the coming year.
Primum Familiae Vini events around the world
The PFV regularly holds a series of tastings and dinners around the world to present its members' wines for the benefit of a local charity and to enable consumers to meet the producers face to face.
The dinners are organised in partnership with some of the top international hotel groups who ensure that only the finest local ingredients and products are showcased.
Each dinner starts with a champagne reception and each course is paired with two or three top wines - from each of the PFV estates.
The Gala Dinners are an opportunity to raise funds for a local charity by auctioning a PFV Collection Case. The beneficiaries have primarily been focused on helping disadvantaged children, the disabled and specialized hospitals including, up to now:
- Auction Napa Valley 2015
- The Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Wine Dinner and Auction
- ChildhoodBrazil, Brasil
- San Patrignano Charity, Italy
- Grapes for Humanity, USA
