Dominic SYMINGTON has been appointed the new president of Primum Familiae Vini for 2013-2014.
Last July Mouton Rothschild hosted the annual PFV meeting in Pauillac. On that occasion, Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild handed over the presidency to Dominic Symington.
Here is the message from the new president:
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new Primum Familiae Vini President for 2013/2014 in representation of my family's rotating presidency.
In early July all the PFV families met for 3 glorious days at Mouton Rothschild. A busy schedule of meetings, workshops & tastings were arranged by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, her husband Jean Pierre de Beaumarchais and her two sons, Philippe and Julien. The visit was rounded off with a wonderful picnic lunch in the gardens of Petit Mouton, Baroness Philippine's private home.
At the formal AGM the Presidency of the PFV was formally handed over by Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild to myself in representation of my family.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Julien for his outstanding work, leadership and contribution to the PFV during this last year as President.
Now that the 2013 harvest is coming to an end we look forward to a busy schedule of events and activities. For 2014 we will be following up on the extremely successful combined participation in 2013 at both Vinexpo Hong Kong and at Prowein in Dusseldorf. Both events were remarkably successful with an outstanding number of visitors taking the opportunity to meet the various PFV family members who attended. Indeed such was the success that on the first day of Prowein over 600 guests visited the stand. This was followed up by a very successful Journalist and Gastronomy tasting hosted by no less than 7 PFV Family Members.
We will be recreating similar activities both at Vinexpo Hong Kong and at Prowein 2014.
